Ladies and gentlemen it's a HOEDOWN!!!
All the bishoprics made chili and we had judges from each ward taste each of them and decide who had the best darn chili. Well, (I'm trying to be humble about this), NATURALLY my ward, the 37th ward, won. My bishopric really is the best!
Next came the dancing!
It was really fun when this nice lady and her husband came to teach us how to do some square dances. We did one with about 20 boys and 20 girls. Each couple got to do a few steps together and then the boys spun the girls to the next guy. It was a challenge to learn the steps and try to talk to each new partner. This dance was like cowboy speed dating. By the end I had the steps down pretty well and certainly made some new friends. :D
After it was all over Cheryl and I got home exhausted! I pulled off my boots and I had sores the size of nickles on both inside ankles. My skin had been rubbed raw from my boots and socks. I also only got one tiny water blister. I will have to say that every sore, blister, pulled muscle and aching bone was totally worth the stellar night. I was very sad to see the night end. Hopefully Cheryl and Kayte will want to go country dancing soon. :)
