Day 30

Day 30 – A photograph of yourself today + three good things that have happened in the past 30 days.

Weeeell, the picture for today is a doozy.
I got into my sweats to help my dad start painting doors downstairs. My parents are finishing the basement and this week's project is painting. I didn't realize I was wearing all grey because I think I look like an elephant. :)

Three good things that have happened to me in the past 30 days:

  1. I have been getting great grades in ALL of my classes.
  2. I completed my PE practicum.
  3. I am enjoying a 9-day Thanksgiving break.

LAST DAY!!! I can't believe I was able to keep up with the challenge for a whole month. I don't know what I'll blog about now.

Day 29

Day 29 – Something you could never get tired of doing.
I never get tired of talking to this girl....
Amandine and I have been really close friends since she moved to my street. I love talking and listening to her because she gets me. She is one of the few rare people that I can have a deep conversation with for hours and hours and hours. She sympathizes with how I'm feeling and is always willing to give good advice. This beautiful girl never judges. Her testimony is so strong and powerful and when she shares it with me I feel the Spirit and I want to become more like her. She has a huge heart. Amandine makes me laugh and we always have a good time together.

Day 28

Day 28 – Your favorite movie.

I have so many favorite movies that it is hard to choose but right now I have one that I want to watch over and over and over and over.........

Toy Story 3, baby!!! I saw this in theatres with Cheryl and Kayte with a whole theatre full of young kids. We laughed harder and louder than anyone else! I think it is such a clever movie and the animation is through the roof. Toy Story is a story that I have literally grown up with and it really touched me and how I have held on to my own toys. My favorite, FaVoRiTe, FAVORITE part of the movie is Spanish Buzz!!! :D :D :D I even snorted in the theatre because I was laughing so hard. This is the perfect family movie. ;)

Day 27

Day 27 – A picture of you last year and now and how have you changed since then?

This picture was taken almost exactly a year ago at Thanksgiving dinner.

Looks-wise I haven't changed hardly at all. I still have short brown hair. I do my makeup the same way. I wear the same clothes. Despite the lack of change on the outside, I have grown in leaps and bounds on the inside. I have become more independent and more focused on school. I feel that I have been able to shed the rest of my teen-aged high school self and become more of an adult. Learning how to take care of adult decisions and responsibilities helped speed up that process. I have learned that life is too short to not find joy in every moment. Laughing is healthy and I try to laugh as much as I can. Yes, I've definitely changed even though you can't really see it.

Day 26

Day 26 – A photo of somewhere you’ve been to.

I have been to the Big Apple. At first, the thought of being in the heart of New York City terrified me. Getting lost, mugged, hit by a taxi and many other scenarios caused great grief to my heart. I also think I was expecting it to be just like it is in the movies and the fear of it not living up to those expectations worried me. After my friends and I had been in the city for about an hour I started to lighten up and try to take it all in: the sounds, the smells, the lights, the air, everything. It was so overwhelming. I really fell in love with it. We rode in a real live taxi cab and talked to the driver. We went to China Town, did some shopping and we went to a Broadway play that night. I would love to go back someday. I even put "Live in NYC for a few months" on my bucket list and I would really like to do that before I turn 30. There ya go, somewhere I have been.

Day 25

Day 25 – What’s in your purse?

OK, so normally I would be more than willing to show you everything that in my purse but I ran across this quote:

"Guys, a woman's purse, alright, it's her secret source of power. Alright? There
are many dark and dangerous things in there, that we, the male species, should
know nothing about."

This is from How to Loose a Guy in Ten Days. I don't want to let out the dark and dangerous things that live in my purse. :) A purse is a woman's whole world and much can be revealed about her just by taking a peak inside.

Day 24

Day 24 – A photo of something that means a lot to you.
I know the picture is a bit blurry. Miss Abigail is a huge part of my life. I am so proud to be her aunt. She has a great sense of humor for an almost 3 year old. Whenever I see her when I'm home she runs to me and gives me a big bear hug and yells, "Here she is! It's my Sheisha!" Talking to her is always an adventure. Sometimes it's hard to hear what she's saying because she is slurring her words but most of the time it's because she is talking so fast I can't keep up with her. Her laugh is very contagious along with her smile. She is very important to me.

Day 23

Day 23 – 15 facts about you.
  1. I'm very proud of my freckles.
  2. My dream vehicle is a Honda Goldwing.
  3. My toenails must always be painted.
  4. I wish I was born in the 1950's.
  5. My first crush was in Kindergarten. Wesley handed me a yellow-green crayon. I also drew a picture of us in my very first journal.
  6. I dream in color.
  7. I could play board games anytime, all the time!
  8. I have never broken a bone or had surgery.
  9. If it's crafty, geeky, or cute I love it!
  10. I wear my dad's socks.
  11. I want to live in the castle at Disneyland.
  12. I can quote every word to a movie called A Tuna Christmas and The Road to El Dorado.
  13. The thought of having my own kids who look and act like me terrifies me.
  14. I can sing for two hours straight. The ride to and from Logan gets pretty quiet...
  15. I become attached to people very easily. Once you are my friend you are my friend for life.

Day 22

Day 22 – A letter to someone who has hurt you recently.

Dear Monday,

You dirty stinker. You lurk behind Sunday just waiting to spring upon me when I'm not looking. I don't hate you, it's just that you make the beginning of the week rough. But if I didn't have you I would hate Tuesday. Please Monday, no more sneak attacks and if you were a little shorter that would be nice.

Love, Necia

P.S. Tell Friday I look forward to seeing it.

Day 21

Day 21 – A photo of something that makes you happy. This is a scanned picture of a page in my On The Move text book for my PE class. This picture makes me happy because if you look under Teacher Name you can see in the third box down: Neshia C.

HAHAHA HAHAHA HAHAHA HAHAHA HAHAHA!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :P :D

This makes me so flippin' happy! You NEVER see the name Necia/Neisha/Neshia in a text book! Not only is it my name but it has my last initial! That C. stands for Carter, my friends! I know they spelled it wrong but it is the thought that counts. BEST TEXT BOOK EV-AR!!!! :D

He Said What?!

I don't like to talk about politics. I try to avoid them because people tend to get defensive and mean to one another whenever the topic is brought up. I stay out of it because I feel that our government today to far from what our founding fathers had in mind for our country. But I found a very interesting article today that kind of upset me....

Obama's learning 'whose a** to kick' in oil mess

Since when has it been okay for the President of the United States of America to cuss? Isn't he supposed to be the example of the ideal citizen? Whether he likes it or not he has people who are always watching him. They may be watching him because they look up to him. They may be watching him because they want to see him fail. They may be watching him because they know their kids are watching him.

Children look to the president as a power figure. In our society we are taught to want power and how to act when we get power. When children see what the president is doing they think that it is acceptable behavior to do the same. I'm not comfortable with the children, who will be taking care of this country in the future, losing their manners and respect for others.

I know that I seem to be attacking our current president; however, I feel that EVERY President of the United States needs to be on their best behavior 100% of the time. It's part of the job description. He cannot let his guard down. I'm sorry America but I weep for you sometimes. We have had many presidents in the past with rough language but it's got to stop somewhere. I just hope that someday we will have a president that goes back to the basics and has good wholesome values like, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln. We need a president that will represent us as a country that still has those values.

Day 20

Day 20 – The meaning behind your blog name.

Well, I really struggled to come up with a super cute name and become famous for my blogging skills. (Yeah right!) I wanted to put Necia in the title because I feel that having a unique name has helped me become a unique person with a unique personality. I added the 'Just' part because it is simply my raw thoughts and feelings. I don't hold back. Everything I write is 100% ME. Plus I'm the only one posting on my blog. So it seemed fitting to name it "Just Necia"

Day 19

Day 19 – Another picture of yourself.

This picture was taken in Bluff, Utah. Cheryl, Becca, Jeff and I went down to Chaco Canyon for our spring break. We spent the first night in Bluff then traveled the rest of the way to New Mexico the next day. It was one of my most memorable road trips. In this picture I was trying to skip rocks across a cute little river we found. We played in the sand, went climbing through the woods, and crossed a narrow overpass with semi trucks rushing passed us. Good times....

Day 18

Day 18 – Something you crave a lot.

One word:
PIZZA

Day 17

Day 17 – A photo of you and your family.

Apparently my family is not so good at taking family pictures or at least taking pictures with everyone in them. My dad sent these pictures to me a while back and I think that they will complete today's challenge just fine. Enjoy the treasures!
Ha ha, I think this was taken in 1996. There's my dad, Marshell, Cody and me. Mom must be taking the picture.I can't believe how blonde I used to be! I also remember those horrid pink shoes of mine. I loved them very much and I wore them everywhere... What a cute little retard I am....

It is believed that this picture was taken in 1997 while waiting for a parade. It must be Steel Days because you can see the City of Fun carnival set up in the park behind us. Marshell was in the color guard so that's why she's not there....wonder who took the picture. As far as I know Mom's red hat, the umbrella, and the red water cooler is still in existence today. My dad's mustache is not. And again with the stupid pink shoes!

Day 16

Day 16 – Your celebrity crush.

He's on How I Met Your Mother. He is currently writing the new Muppets film. He sings and plays the piano. He is the perfect build: tall (6'4"), Dark hair and HANDSOME!!! Ladies and gentlemen I give you...

JASON SEGEL

Day 15

Day 15 – Something you don’t leave the house without.

Earrings! They are my favorite piece of jewelry. I feel naked if I don't wear at least a pair of studs. I like large unique earrings. So if anyone is wondering what they should get me for Christmas, the easy answer is earrings. :D

Day 14

Day 14 – A TV show you’re currently addicted to.

I have four shows that I make an effort to stay caught up on. The first is House. I love how sarcastic and funny he is. Personally I think that House is the mondern day version of M*A*S*H (which many of you know is my favorite tv show of all time.)

The next is Bones. Cheryl is the one who introduced it to me. It's about a forensic anthopologist and her team of squints and a really hot FBI guy and how they solve crimes. Gotta love it!

The third one is The Big Bang Theory. This is about a group of nerds just trying to fit into society. I love how nerdy and hilarious they are. Plus this show has some classic catch phrases.

The last one is How I Met Your Mother. I wish I had a group of friends that are as close as these guys. Also because of this show I have put "Live in New York" on my Bucket List. This show is lengen....wait for it.....DARY!!! That's right, cyber-five! (.......) Nice! :D

Day 13

Day 13 – Your favorite musician and why?

Ladies and gentlemen I give you Rascal Flatts! I had a hard time figuring this one out because I love all music across the spectrum. I chose Rascal Flatts because I have all of their albums (except the brand new one [I'm getting that for myself for Christmas.]), and when ever any of their songs come on the radio I can't help it but turn up the volume and sing along. Some of my favorite songs of theirs are:
  • My Wish
  • Me and My Gang
  • Still Feels Good
  • What Hurts the Most
  • No Reigns
  • Here
  • Fast Cars and Freedom
  • Where You Are
  • Some Say
  • Take Me There

Day 12

Day 12 – A photograph of the town you live in.

This is a beautiful picture of Logan in the magnificent Cache Valley. However, I live here:Anderson Apartments. Ain't they great? :P I have enjoyed living here but I think I could use a change for next year. A house maybe....

Starting with the top row I have a mirror, sparkles, mini blush brush, tweezers, package of eye applicators, lip gloss, foundation, makeup wedge, bobby pins, clips and Q-tips. On the bottom row we have a big blush brush, contour brush, shading brush, eye contour brush, lip liner brush, eye groomer brush, another shading brush, angle brush, another (yet favorite) blush brush, eyeshadow, eye liner and mascara. I have much more makeup than this but these are my essentials.

Day 10

Day 10 – A photo of our favorite place to eat.

I've already blogged about eating at the best place in Utah, Pita Pit. I love the Chicken Caesar. So yummy!

My second favorite place to eat is Costa Vida. OOOOooo, the chicken salad with pinto beans with everything on it with the ranch dressing. MMMmmm.....my mouth is watering now. :D

Day 9

Day 9 – A photo of the item you last purchased.
This is kind of lame but I just bought gas for my car. The end.
